What's involved
Some mates deserve a card. Yours deserves a roasting.
The comedy roast is a proper American tradition - the guest of honour sits there while everyone takes turns tearing into them - and it works brilliantly as a birthday or stag do stitch up over here too.
Here's how yours comes together. You feed your comedian the good stuff: the stories, the photos, the incidents he'd rather nobody brought up again. That gets shaped into a set built entirely around him, running to a 'This is Your Life' sort of theme.
You pick the venue as well, and the busier the better. A pub or a bar with a decent crowd in makes the whole thing ten times funnier.
The bit you'll want to film is the reveal. He thinks he's out for a quiet pint. Then a comedian he's never met starts working through his back catalogue of shame in front of the lot of you.
The show runs between 40 minutes and an hour, which is more than enough time to have him laughing, squirming and going a lovely shade of red.
Heckling is welcome, by the way. The more of your group who pile in, the better it lands.
Just be honest with yourself first - can he take it?

Reviews
Mike was a brilliant comedian and the whole grouped loved the set and roasting. Well worth it and would highly recommend him for anyone wanting to do the same thing!
